Instructor: Kirsten Harmon Stewart

Kirsten Harmon Stewart is the Designated Broker and owner of Suburban Realty, a family-owned property management company that has proudly served the Parkland community from the same location since 1949. Although she became owner in 2019, Kirsten has been actively managing the company's day-to-day operations since 2011.

Founded by Ernest Harmon and later led by Kirsten's father, Robert Harmon, Suburban Realty originally specialized in real estate sales and development before evolving into a dedicated residential property management company. Today, the company continues its long-standing tradition of providing exceptional property management services throughout the region.

A lifelong Parkland resident, Kirsten graduated from Washington High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington State University in 2011. After graduation, she returned home to help lead the family business following her father's stroke, setting aside plans to teach science with the Peace Corps in Kenya.

In addition to managing properties for clients, Kirsten owns and manages her own rental portfolio and has extensive experience purchasing, renovating, and maintaining residential investment properties. Her practical, hands-on knowledge gives her a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities of property management.

Kirsten is an active member of the Tacoma-Pierce County Association of REALTORS®, a former West County Board member, a member of the Rental Housing Association of Washington and the Commercial Brokers Association, and a Certified Real Estate Instructor. She is also a Past President and current Fundraising Chair of the Parkland-Spanaway Rotary Club.

Outside of work, Kirsten and her husband, Dan, are raising their three children, along with cattle, chickens, and sheep, on their 20-acre farm in Spanaway. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, paddleboarding, jogging, and hopes to find time to return to golfing and cycling.
